February 13, 2021:
AM: Sophia is leaving us, I found her still with us but cool to the touch and unresponsive. I tucked her into a soft sided tent in her cage to let her finish her journey to Rainbow Bridge.

Bonnie - Sophia went into an insulinoma seizure last night and I could not bring her out of it. I gave her medication hoping it would settle the seizure and she would be okay this morning. It helped settle her some but when I checked on her this morning she was cool to the touch and unresponsive. She was quietly working her way to Rainbow Bridge. Sophia is gone. Thank you for helping me take care of her.

Oh Brenda, I am so very sorry to hear that little Sophia has crossed the Rainbow Bridge! I KNOW that you did everything you could to save her -- I guess it was just her time. I know your heart hurts every time you lose one of your little ones. My heart is with you.
Many hugs to you, Bonnie

February 12, 2021:
While I was serving soup/meds tonight Sophia went into a screaming seizure, I had an awful time getting Dex into her because she was so rigid and jerking. Mouth open, if they bite down on something while in a seizure they don't let go of what's in their mouth. I didn't want to be attached to her. I covered the bars on her cage doors, I took her sleep box out of the cage so she didn't hurt herself on either of them. She was still screaming when I left the ferret room but the screaming was less than it was when she started. I would not surprised if she does not come out of this seizure.

January 25, 2021:
Donna and Bill got the kids home. all 3 have stitches Sophia has them on her foot and her back. Pheona has them on her chest, with the amount of stitches she has that mass not only big but deep. Lance has stitches on his neck under his chin.

November 16, 2020:
Both Sophia and Ezekiel were better when I offered mid-morning meds. both ate the full bowl of soup, they are back on track this evening.

September 15, 2020:
I found Sophia in a crash this morning, she's back, she's eaten 3 bowls of soup since she came around.

March 17, 2020:
I got Gypsy and Sophia moved into the different cages. Sophia was ready to have soup this morning, she was ready to get up this evening, she again ate her soup with meds willingly. She is much better today than yesterday.

March 16, 2020:
When I got Sophia up for second shift I found her in a full blown crash. She was unresponsive, her little body jerking, glassy eyes. I gave her a Dex shot at 11 she was finally responsive at 3. I fed her a dish of soup then took her to a smaller play area. She couldn't walk, each time she fell over she flopped like a fish out of water. I took her to the sick pen, she was in worse shape than Jack.

July 13, 2019:
Sophia hanging out in the mop box, while Mum steam mops the floors.

Christmas 2018:
Dear Miss Karra,
I got to open my Christmas box today. Mum took pictures for you. I got so excited to have such awesome bedding that I kept falling off the bed. Thanks for helpen Mum take care of me.

July 19, 2018:
Sophia showed up before I got into bed. I got her put away.

July 18, 2018:
I made the mistake of letting Sophia have the kitchen, she is MIA! She is always getting herself lost when I let her have the larger rooms. With her being deaf she comes out from where she's been when she is good and ready. She does not hear me moving around looking for her.

June 29, 2018:
Sophia has real nasty poo this morning, she is not dehydrated but she looks like she feels miserable. She will be in the play pen for the duration.

June 27, 2018:
I put Sophia in the sick pen, she has icky poo but not slime. I've had her on meds for several days - maybe she won't get as sick as Gypsy did.

June 27, 2018:
Sophia is looking better as well. She and Lance will be on Moxy till July 4th

June 26, 2018:
Sophia - she was out and about when I was doing meds, she has not lost weight, but the signs are in her eyes that she is not feeling well. I dropper fed her, her Moxy in soup. I hope I can keep her from getting as sick as Gypsy got. So far it looks like everyone else is doing okay.

June 25, 2018:
Sophia - she has some nasty looking green slime in her poo box, she is not acting sick, has not lost any weight but the slime is a concern so I started her on Moxy.

October 17, 2016:
I got Sophia moved into the cage Max and Princess were in.

Initial Contact, Owner, August 24, 2016:
Hello,
My name is Jessica and I have 3 ferrets that I need to surrender.
Sheik is deaf, about two years old, and was adopted from Lollypop. At the time she had a bite note on her adoption sheet, and I thought it was due to the stressful atmosphere of the household she had been at, when in fact she is deaf and no one knew and so she is pretty vicious with other animals and can be sweet and loving with humans.
I don't have the time or the means to help rehab a ferret who seems really aggressive when I have my young ferret to take care of and think of as well. Sheik is a good ferret, but needs a lot of help.
Lars and Sasha are two males and have been paired together and lived together for over a year. Sasha is about two and Lars is about four. They are both friendly and sweet and don't appear overly aggressive with other ferrets. They were given to me by a friend while she straightened out housing and other life events before she decided she could not keep them. She wants them to be with people who will not separate them and will make sure they receive the love and attention they need. I immediately thought of your rescue.
I now have three more ferrets than I originally intended and cannot keep caring for all of them the amount they need and deserve. I would like to surrender them to you as soon as possible. I live in Rochester NY, so I am quite close. I can provide adoption and vet papers for Sheik and all vet papers for Lars and Sasha.
All ferrets have cages, food, bedding, and toys enough to last them 4 weeks. Please let me know if/when I can bring them.
Thank you,
  Jessica
