Welcome to Lakeroad Ferret Farm Rescue/Shelter, Inc.

Missy

   • Surrendered to the Shelter on January 18, 2008.
   • Missy was a sable female. She left for the Rainbow Bridge November 23, 2008.

This little girl had her name given to her by her shelter mum. Missy was found out running around in an apartment complex, turned in to Stephanie N. of the Ferret Club President. Stephanie called me to say she would get her to Naples for me. She was thin and in need of immediate intervention, Between Stephanie and I we got her back to good health. She is a happy little girl now settled into shelter life.

November 24, 2008:
Missy has earned her wings. She was still screaming at 11:00 Pm last night. She would have her quiet moments long enough for me to drift off to sleep; allowing me to think the Dex was doing its thing.
I am not sure how long those periods would last but I would be jolted out of sleep by her thrashing against the sick pen bars and screaming. A couple of times I took her out of her water dish. I would get her up wrap her in a blanket and cuddle her. Her thrashing would stop, but the shaking did not, the screaming would stop and she would seem somewhat at peace, once she seemed to be calmed I would tuck her back into bed in the sick pen, I kicked Jesse out of it when Missy started with the seizures at 5 last night.
I had made up my mind to call in sick this morning so I could take her up to Doc. I figured I could be at the hospital door at 7 when Doc got there to do rounds before they are open but she did not wait for me to do that, she is on the bridge waiting for me to arrive.
I was looking at her tag this morning; she has only been here since January of this year.
