November 28, 2023:
Shadow is gone. I found her gone when I went in to check on her.

November 4, 2023:
I got Shadow out of her pen so I could clean it, even having pads on the floor she wouldn't more. She was gagging. I put her back on a Dex shot twice a day. She is eating really well.

November 3, 2023:
Shadow is eating well, pooping all over the pen. I am so thrilled she has turned around.

November 1, 2023:
Shadow ate enough to poo all over in her pen last night. I spent time stripping that and getting clean bedding down. I let her out to move around, she doesn't do well on the bare floors, so I laid some chux down and she took off.

October 31, 2023:
When I checked on Shadow she was up eating, she has rallied.

October 26, 2023:
Shadow is hanging on, I offered her some treats yesterday she ate them. The good treats we get for the kids. No sugar and such. I have her on Dex and fluids that seems to be helping. She wanted out of the pen yesterday I gave her the ferret room. She moseyed around for a couple of hours. Shadow, is on 0.13 Dex two times a day. She ate 2/3 of a cup of soup mid morning, I gave her fluids. She is eating the soft treats, it looks like she has been in the kibble dish as well.. Tonight she ate about 1/2 cup of soup.

October 22, 2023:
Shadow is iffy, she is not eating. I'll give her soup every couple of hours, she had pooed it was icky and sticky. Not eating will do that. Shadow is holding her own, having her in the sick pen is easier on me for clean up and on her. she has access to all she needs on one level. She has been moving from the 2 beds I gave her.

October 21, 2023:
I got the sick pen set up and Shadow moved into it. I attempted to give her fluids, she's not as sick as I thought, she fought me every step of the way. I got about 5 ml into her. When it was time to serve meds late this afternoon, I got Shadow up, put he in the sack and fed her soup by dropper, she took 20 ml. She pooed a well formed brown color poo before soup. She looked a bit better, she was no longer squinting her eyes. Hopefully I can keep her stable while she is in the sick pen.

October 21, 2023:
Shadow definitely needs the sick pen, she needs fluids this morning. Icky sticky poo.

October 20, 2023:
I've been keeping track of Shadow's poo, it looks normal now. I do think I am going to set her up in the sick pen, she's pooing all over the cage. I took the poo pan out weeks ago replaced with washable pee pads, the wood sleep box out and replaced it with a plastic one, I took the shelf out and gave her one of the large hammocks. If I put her in the sick pen she will have more area to move in and hopefully she will poo on one end of the pen and sleep on the other.

March 27, 2022:
Sasquatch is alert and responsive, ate all his soup.

March 26, 2022:
Sasquatch was still not responsive at noon. He was doing better when we got back so I made him some soup, he still could not stand on his own, he was shaking from head to toe so I held him so he could eat his soup.

March 18, 2022:
I checked on Sasquatch at noon he still was not very responsive, I offered him soup, he couldn't stand on his own so I held him so she could have some soup. He was finally responsive enough and ready to eat his evening soup on his own. OFD said I may need to increase his Pred to 1/2 tablet if he continues to crash. He got a 1/2 tablet tonight hopefully that will keep him going until morning. I'll keep the morning and noon meds at 1/4. He had some pretty sticky dark poo, I'll increase his soup intake to help keep an ulcer from forming.

March 10, 2022:
Sasquatch was alert and ready for his noon soup/meds, responsive when I was doing meds tonight.

March 10, 2022:
Tomorrow is moving day for Sasquatch and Shadow, I'm putting them in the horizontal cage, then moving Smore into S and S cage they were in.

March 9, 2022:
OFD gave all the kids a clean bill of health. Sasquatch was checked out first so the Tech could take him back to do what they do, He was on his way into a crash so he got a Dex shot while the tech had him. OFD could not feel any lumps, bumps or problems other than insulinoma. Sasquatch is now on meds 3 times a day.

October 13, 2021:
When I was moving Shadow this morning she was drooling, I tested her blood she is now on soup and meds.

September 25, 2021:
I'm going to move Sasquatch and Shadow into Pheona's cage, move the kids that are on meds (4 group) into the horizontal cage Shadow and Sasquatch have been living in. I'm getting all the ferrets that are on meds into the medical bank.

May 7, 2021:
I got the ferrets moved into their new cages, I stripped them then put clean bedding in them. Jaxxson got a bath this morning, his play area was stripped and cleaned. Sasquatch is feeling much better now that he's on meds, he was actually playing this morning. Razzle has improved also now that he is on meds 3 times a day, Al is as well now that he's on meds 2 times a day. I'm thrilled with their improvement.

May 6, 2021:
I decided I needed to get some blood tests done on some of the fur kids, Razzle has been on meds 2 times a day, I did a test on him, his numbers were 31. I tested Al, he has been on meds one time a day, his numbers were 69. I tested Sasquatch his numbers were 43 he is on meds now 2 times a day. I've added 4 ferrets to the daily medication list, in addition Razzle and Troy are added to the noon meds list.

November 28, 2018:
I have Sashquach and Shadow out in the kitchen this morning. Sashquach is doing better.

November 27, 2018:
Sashquach has turned the corner, he is eating, drinking and leaving me nice looking poo. I found the food he came in with, put some of that in the cage he is eating that. I just ordered another bag so I can keep him in that food.

November 26, 2018:
Sashquach is still leaving dark poo but it is starting to be formed. I found the food they came in with so I put that in their cage, I moved them over to the south bank into the horizontal cage so they have more room until Sashquach gets feeling better. It's easier for me to monitor him in that cage. I started him on fluids yesterday, we did them again today. He is getting Carafate as well. I think if I can't get him improved by Wed I may run him into OFD I'm not sure what more I can do for him.

November 24, 2018:
Sashquach is not feeling well, he is leaving me icky stinky black puddles. He is on Carafate, he and Shadow are both on Moxy. I'm not sure what is going on with him.

October 21, 2018:
I learned that Sashquach and Shadow can't be left in the living room unattended, I allowed them to have the living room while I was at work Friday morning. They had been trust worthy so I closed the gate and walked away. What a mistake. They cleaned off my desk.

October 18, 2018:
Sashquach was dancing and dooking with me while I was getting things around in the kitchen. I believe he has decided living here is a good thing.

October 13, 2018:
Sashquach is doing much better he is now asking for my attention and no longer runs when I walk into the room.

October 3, 2018:
Sashquach is settled I think. I got he and Shadow up, set them on the floor to go onto getting the next set of kids up. Instead of running for cover he stood at my feet looking up at me. I picked him up to give him a hug.

September 30, 2018:
Sashquach and Shadow are eating our food mix, I was getting concerned they were going to need a new bag of the food they came in with

September 29, 2018:
Sashquach was playing with Shadow this morning, he even started to show signs of playing with me then he remembered where he was and backed off. Shadow has been interacting with me for a couple of days now. She plays rough. He is showing little signs of adjusting to shelter life.

September 27, 2018:
Sashquach is sleeping in the hammock on occasion instead of hiding in the bungalow, allowing me to get him up without fighting me to stay put. Both are taking soup from the dropper willingly.

September 23, 2018:
The 2 new fur kids are doing okay, I was concerned for Sasquatch; he was terrified last night, would not allow me to pick him up, well I had to catch him first. I finally put them both in the cage to allow them feel safe. This morning I put them in the play pen, first thing. When I do meds I give them both a dropper full of soup. Sasquatch is taking it without a fight, he actually took 2 droppers tonight. Shadow thinks I'm feeding her poison. After I got back down to clean cages this morning Sasquatch looked a bit more relaxed and at peace so I let them have the playroom and ferret room while I cleaned cages. They both did pretty good checking things out. I got pictures of them while they were out and about.

Initial Contact, September 5, 2018:
Good morning,
Due to some unfortunate circumstances, I am currently changing living situations. I own 2 ferrets, Shadow and Sasquatch (Female, male). As of the last 6 months, I have been traveling more for work, and have been unable to give them the same attention I have been, and have not been able to give them the exercise they need.
I am doing my best to find a place where I can keep them, but since that is only the start of my issue due to work, I am exploring alternate options. I came across your facility and the backyard is so amazing , I could see them dooking all over the place!
I am wondering should this be my only option - do you have room for 2 more ferrets? I read your website, and if you have any on the list who are looking for 2 ferrets- I would love to introduce them to make sure they are someone who can handle them as pets.
This is something I am really trying to not do, but something I have finally come to terms with that I may have to do for their best interest. Any information you can provide would be wonderful.
