December 26, 2023:
Pabu is crazy at all times when he is awake just twisting and turning ,dancing constantly going until he is asleep. Nori is calm and sleepy for a couple of days then she wakes up for a day and is crazy. They are great kids!Pabu just likes to play in his drink fountain too and make a mess no wonder why you gave me the litter pans!

December 26, 2023:
Nori and Pabu had a lot of fun jumping and playing in the wrapping paper then jumping in the tree and stealing gifts (not theirs)they are great kids and a lot of fun.

December 7, 2023:
There is not a place Pabu has not climbed into even my utility sink. Nori likes Skully, and likes to sleep in the toys in the living room. So I hope they are enjoying their lives here.I am glad they are here.We just had to have Brandon’s girl Eris put to sleep she was an amazing 9yrs and 4 months she was a tough old girl.I so love ferrets I just wish things were better for all of them health wise.

October 11, 2023:
Hi Brenda hope you are well..Pabu & Nori are doing well. I was wondering after reading this email what are your steps or process for getting the campers to accept Archie? Nori and Skully are fine with each other and Skully is not dominant at all it’s Pabu but it’s not too bad but I am not sure how to make it better if ever. Any suggestions would be appreciated thanks.

September 3, 2023:
As I have heard you say before he is becoming a ferret here finally! The Marshal food suggestion was the best. He ate great then. Now I have to work on that he can’t just eat Marshal. They are great kids.I know I just panicked that day when I didn’t find hardly any poop thank you for getting me through it.Nori adjusted quickly.I have some pictures of Pabu but she is too fast she just leaves a blur.

August 26, 2023:
Pabu is still settling in and it seems to be going better. Nori is doing great. They are always together.Pabu likes to take bath’s in the drink well in their room.I still feel he uncertain about things but I want to work past it.

Initial Contact, November 10, 2022:
Hi Brenda, I am writing to inquire if your rescue facility can assist with re-homing our 2 ferrets. They are a brother and sister 2.5 years old. They are very sweet and affectionate. It is so important to us that they have a home that is loving and enriching.
There are a combination of factors that bring us to the position of needing to re-home them and we really appreciate any help or advice you can offer. Thank you, Emilie

November 13, 2022, Shelter Response:
Good Morning Emilie, Where are you located? Are they current on vaccines? This is the link that explains how to surrender. Our facility is full at this time, however that can change in a heart beat.

Owner Response: Hi Brenda, We are located in Hilton, NW of Rochester up by Lake Ontario. Our ferrets have been in for a checkup but have not had vaccines. I was scared to get them vaccinated because I knew someone who’s ferret had a life threatening reaction to the vaccine.

Shelter Response: The vet will have an antidote if that happens. We have many vaccinated on clinic day none of them have reactions.

Owner Response: Our vet said that if we keep them inside choosing not to vaccinate was acceptable. However, if it is an adoption requirement I would reach out to the vet you recommended in Brockport about vaccinations.

Shelter Response: Yes, you need to do that.

Owner Response: Is there a waiting list for your rescue facility? I would be interested in getting on it if you do. I don’t have a way to find a home for them on my own so I think that surrendering them to your facility is our best option to ensure they find a home that can responsibly care for them.

Shelter Response: We had one of the families that was going to surrender cancel, they found a home for their ferret. we have an opening for your two. Get them vaccinated, keep us informed so you don't lose the only opening available.

November 17, 2022, Owner Response: Hi Brenda, Thank you for reaching out. I appreciate the work you do and your willingness to help us with the re-homing process. I called around to the veterinary clinics and I was able to get an appointment with Dr Edwards in Brockport on December 9th. I was able to get that appointment because of a cancellation. The other clinics offered me appointment in Jan and Feb. Will that timeline work to be able to hold a spot for our 2 at your shelter? Thank you for your advice, Emilie

Shelter Response: As long as you keep us in the loop, the opening is yours.

November 21, 2022, Owner Response: Hi Brenda, I’m wondering how I can help with food transitioning. Our ferrets have been eating Stella and Chewy freeze dried or frozen raw cat food. I noticed on your website that you use a brand called Total Ferret. Should I buy a bag of that and start adding it in sm quantities to the food they have been eating to start getting them used to it?

Shelter Response: You can but as long as you bring us enough of the food you feed that will get them through a month we do the transition. If you want to transition them I would get the Marshall Farms food, that's what they are fed at the breeder, they will take to that easier and faster.

Owner Response: Do you soak the kibble?

Shelter Response: No we do not.

Owner Response: Hi Brenda, I had some phone issues so I’m not sure if the last email I wrote was sent. Some of the info in this message may be redundant, that’s why.

Shelter Response: Thanks for the heads up.

Owner Response: I have been transitioning the ferrets from raw to Marshall's kibble. They are eating it well and are at 50/50 mix every meal.

Shelter Response: 50/50 of what Marshall's and? if it's raw you need to get them off that before they get here.

Owner Response: I take them in this Friday 12/9 for the vaccination visit with Dr Edwards.

Shelter Response: I have them on the calendar seeing OFD.

Owner Response: I am wondering if I would be able to bring them to you on Saturday Dec 10th.

Shelter Response: Saturday the 10th works well. What time were you thinking? We close at 4.

Owner Response: A weekend day will work best for me because of my work schedule. I would also be able to bring them Sun the 11th also but the 10th would be better for me if that date is good for you too. Thank you. I really appreciate your help.

Shelter Response: The 10th works well for us.

Owner Response: Hi Brenda, Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. I’m needing a little clarification on food. They have been eating Stella and Chewy Cat food -freeze dried raw or frozen raw. A couple of weeks ago i started mixing the S&C with Marshall’s Premium. Right now I am doing 50/50 but I have given them one all kibble meal to see if they would eat it. They did. I moistened the kibble since they are used to their food in a more soupy consistency. You mentioned that they need them to be off of the raw diet when I bring them to you. I just want to confirm that you don’t want me to bring any of the frozen raw food with me when I bring them on Saturday. Thanks, Emilie

Shelter Response: I forgot you were feeding Stella and Chewy freeze dried - I was thinking raw raw.. not frozen raw. Bring what you have, we will get them off Stella and Chewy while they are here. I'm sorry I confused things.. sometimes my brain is frozen. Do you have an idea as to what time you will be bringing them on Saturday the 10th?

Owner Response: Hi Brenda, Would 10:30 or 11 be a good time to meet on Saturday? The food transition is going well. They have been on full Marshall's premium for several days. I’m looking forward to meeting you. I think you’ll instantly fall in love with Pabu and Nori. They are sweet angels. Emilie
