February 23, 2024:
It's been a little over a year with Hampton, and almost a year with Marriott. Figured you were due for an update.

October 28, 2023:
These two keep me sane and drive me nuts at the same time. Hampton is doing so great, he is getting so chunky (in a good way) happy and crazzzyyy! He's picked up the habit from his sister to jump all the way to your knees when he's excited. He loves to tattle on her when she's doing something bad.

August 10, 2023:
We decided to get a second ferret, a young female. We were fully ready to have separate cages if introductions didn't work out, especially with your info on Hampton's previous reaction to other ferrets but Hampton and Marriott became fast friends and now sleep in piles and are attached at the hip. He is even more energetic and happy and has even put on weight. They are the best of friends. It's hard to get a good picture because she is full of energy but he makes her settle down and he'll groom her till she falls asleep.

April 14, 2023:
I got this adorable picture and had to show you. Hes doing fantastic, happy, healthy, and learning to cuddle.

Initial Contact, November 8, 2022:
It was a pleasure speaking with you tonight. My name is Andrea and I called from West Hampton NY, on the eastern end of Long Island. We recently acquired a ferret that we can not keep in our home. We love him dearly as we love all animals but I breed and raise Rottweilers and our home is not a safe fit for Mr. Hampton. I am afraid that if he was to get out one of our 4 dogs will do harm to him. I am unfamiliar with taking care of a ferret, we took him in because I did not want him to end up at a kill shelter or cold shelter not being loved or end up abandoned. I found your farm online and it looks like the best place on earth for a ferret. We are aware that you are 6 hours away and we are willing to take the drive to deliver him safely. Please advise on how to get him in to your amazing safe haven. He currently has a 4 tier rolling cage plenty of fiesta ferret food and Petco ferret litter a small litter box a water bottle some blankets and his toy. He is very smart, sweet, friendly and adventurous. I really think he can flourish at the farm. Andrea-Elizabeth

November 9, 2022, Shelter Response:
Good morning Andrea, The Rottweilers will have him for lunch if they can catch him for sure. Thanks for the compliment, the ferrets are my love, my life and my passion. We've been running this shelter for 30 years, the volunteers and supporters we have are a big part of why we are successful. Are you aware you are 6 hours from Naples?

Owner Response: We are aware that you are 6 hours away and we are willing to take the drive to deliver him safely. Please advise on how to get him in to your amazing safe haven.

Shelter Response: Here is the link to our surrender requirements. You mentioned he has already seen the vet, we need that documentation to come with him. Pick a day or days you can get to Naples, I'll check the calendar to be sure we can receive him on the day you choose. I'm up at 4 am if you would like an early surrender time. We close at 4 pm.

Shelter Response: I gather you have already read our surrender page, all the things he has needs to come to Naples with him. We need to keep our correspondence by email so we have a paper trail for Mr. Hampton. I look forward to hearing back from you with a surrender date and time.

Owner Response: Thank you so much Brenda for the quick response. Yes I have read through your entire website thoroughly. I will pick a date asap and email you by 4pm today.

Shelter Response: It is important that you keep us in the loop so we don't fill the only spot we have for him.

Owner Response: Hi Brenda, I just left you a voicemail but I wanted to confirm this in an email. We Can Drive Mr. Hampton all the way to your farm this Saturday. I just wanted to make sure that this works for you. if you could please just email me back and confirm this Saturday works that would be great. I also want to make a donation to your farm and thank you so much for being so kind. Let me know if that works for you.

Shelter Response: Saturday 11/12 works, what time do you think you will be arriving in Naples? We would be honored to accept a donation. Bless you for caring for that little boy.
