June 14, 2021:
Bonnie, we had our clinic event last Saturday. I had Doc take a look at Jaxxson, he was in distress so we let him go. He had a good 4 months with us. He started to show signs of failing Friday, Saturday there was no doubt he needed Doc to help him go. Thanks for your help in caring for him. Brenda

June 7, 2021:
I was using 4 Washable Chux pads in Jaxxson's pen, he can't walk on bare floors so the pads allow him to move around. Keeping up with his pads was adding to the piles in the basement, I've decided to cover the Chux with the X-Large puppy pads. Using the Chux under the puppy pads allows me to pick up the soiled pads and replace with clean without adding to the piles of laundry. It seems to be doing the trick for both Jaxxson and me.

June 7, 2021:
I found Jaxxson in a full blown crash when I went to put him back in his pen. I gave him a Dex injection. He was responsive when I went to give him his noon soup.

June 3, 2021:
Jaxxson ate well today but it's clear he's struggling. He can't even get himself under the blanket. I had to go in to help him get under it.

May 31, 2021:
Both Ezekiel and Jaxxson ate the soup I left them over night.

May 7, 2021:
I got the ferrets moved into their new cages, I stripped them then put clean bedding in them. Jaxxson got a bath this morning, his play area was stripped and cleaned. Sasquatch is feeling much better now that he's on meds, he was actually playing this morning. Razzle has improved also now that he is on meds 3 times a day, Al is as well now that he's on meds 2 times a day. I'm thrilled with their improvement.

May 1, 2021:
Jaxxson is now scratching and biting at the bars. He's gone from a lump of fur when he came in to a real ferret. He is very active this morning, he is going to need a bath when I get back downstairs.

April 28, 2021:
Jaxxson got a bath his bum was a mess, his nails were caked in poop so I stuck him in some soapy water to soak his bottom and back feet. He's squeaky clean or at least was, he may need to be dunked again tomorrow morning.

March 4, 2021:
I also traded spaces with Pheona and Jaxxson, both of them need the floor to be covered so they can get where they want to go. They were up all night, when I dropped Jaxxson into the window end he went right to the pool of toys crawled up under the blanket. At one point during the night he got up to eat his soup. I set that right in front of the food dishes so he could find them. Both Jaxxson and Pheona seemed to do well in the rooms I set them in.

March 18, 2021:
This morning when I was doing meds, Jaxxson popped his little head up ready for a bowl of soup. I brought him out to have his soup in the box so I could assess how he was doing. Lance pretty much did the same thing. At noon both Lance and Jaxxson were ready for their soup, both boys ate 2 bowls of soup. I've added noon meds for Jaxxson. Both boys had 2 bowls of soup tonight as well. Neither of them are going to run any races but they are at least standing on all 4 feet to eat their soup. Jaxxson is out in a play area today,

March 17, 2021:
AM: I found Jaxxson in a full blown crash laying in his own poo and pee. He got a quick rinse, Dex shot, a clean bed and blanket. I put him back in his cage. I don't know if he will come back from this crash. PM: Jaxxson and Lance were still warm and breathing at 10, Lance was up looking for soup at 11:30 I had to put a rolled towel under his belly to keep him from falling face first into his soup, He ate every drop. Jaxxson was still not responsive. When I took soup in for noon meds Jaxxson was a little bit more responsive I got him up to check his bed and blanket, he seemed to want soup so I set him up with a bowl, he ate all his soup. It seems I have all 3 of them back for the time being. Time will tell if the 2 boys come fully back.

March 16, 2021:
Jaxxson didn't want a second bowl of soup tonight and left me a puddle of mucus poo. I left the soup for him in his cage, if its not gone in the morning I will have to sort out what is going on.

February 26, 2021:
Jaxxson has made it to the two week mark, he is doing well.

February 25, 2021:
  Jaxxson's eye looks much better.

February 24, 2021:
Jaxxson he is now officially a shelter kid, the minute I put my hand in the cage with his soup bowl his little nose comes out from under the blanket and he situates himself to get out of his bed.

February 20, 2021:
Jaxxson is a little piggy, he ate 2 good size bowls of soup, one with meds one without. He's eating kibble. His eye looks okay. I'm going to have to wash it out tomorrow it was looking a bit sticky when Donna and I put meds in his eye.

February 18, 2021:
Jaxxson is holding his own, eating kibble and enjoying soup. His eye looks a bit better. Miss Bonnie G has chosen to pick up Jaxxson as his far away Mom, she was sponsoring Sophia.

February 18, 2021:
I connected with OFD about Jaxxson, emailed Jaxxsons history, and what was going on with pictures. He said use the meds Doc Sandra suggested we use, watch closely for any negative changes. I had the eye cleaned up, Melissa took the picture while I held him so OFD could get a good look.

February 17, 2021:
Jaxxson has an eye infection Dr Sandra believes it is uveitis secondary to his cataracts. She has me putting some of the eye meds she left for us, told me to call OFD in the morning to get a different med for his eye. The one she left us has steroids in it, it will be okay for a dose or 2 but Dr Sandra said we should get one without steroids in it.

February 16, 2021:
Jaxxson seems to have an infection in his left eye. I looked for an abscess in his mouth I could not see any indication of one.

February 15, 2021:
I stripped the dinning room and put clean pads down for Jaxxson this morning, he's acting off. his left eye looks bad, I tried to clean it up some but he acted as though it hurt when I was messing with it. I stripped and put a different set up in his cage. the sleep box just wasn't working for him, when I got him up this morning he had been sleeping in his poo. I put a snoopy bed in his cage to replace the sleep box. I also found a dish I could use to put his kibble in for easier access. He was eating kibble I saw some scattered on the floor of his cage. He took his dropper of meds tonight then I left him a dish of soup, he was eating that when I closed his cage door.

February 14, 2021:
Jaxxson is doing well, adjusting well and seems to be okay being here. He's still not eating kibble but I'm keeping him on soup. He got himself up into the pool to sleep on the blanket; more than he could do the first day or two when he got here. I moved him into the cage Sophia had been using. I've attached pictures I took of him yesterday. Donna is holding him.
While I was doing noon meds this afternoon, I heard Jaxxson eating kibble, in his cage. He had knocked the dish over kibble was scattered over the cage floor. I will see what I can do to put a different kind of dish in there for him to have better access to the food.

February 13, 2021:
AM: Jaxxson ate the saucer of soup I left him last night, he was alert and responsive when I opened his cage. I took care of him first, I dropper fed him his meds then held him while he ate a saucer of soup. His second saucer of soup he ate in the dining room peeking out from the sack Miss Tina got the kids. I discovered the first couple of times I held him to feed him, he has little to no control of his bowels. When I grabbed my coffee pot I noticed the saucer was empty. I think he will do fine if I keep him on soup.

PM: Jaxxson has been in the dining room all day he's on the "up all night" bank so he will get put into his new digs in the morning. He is doing better, actually seems to be thriving. I got pictures of him but forgot to bring the camera up, I'll share the pictures in the morning. While Donna was cleaning cages I stripped the dining room, then placed Chux reusable pads around on the floor so he can move around without slipping and falling. It makes it easier for me to see where he is peeing and pooing. I've not seen him eating any kibble so I've been supplementing with soup. He has kibble available and I left him a saucer of soup.
He actually crawled up into the pool of toys sleeping in the blanket, he's started acting like a ferret. I'm so thrilled he is showing signs of being happy here.

February 12, 2021:
AM: the little guy Jaxxson made it through the night. I found several poo on the pee pad I will need to look closer to see if there are pee stains. If there are none the adrenal gland is putting pressure on the urethra. In that case we will need to get him up to OFD sooner than later to get an implant. I would like to give him a month to settle in before doing that if I can.

PM: Jaxxson took his meds by dropper then had a dish of soup. He's now in the dining room with towels and blankets over the floor so he can move around. He seems to like the long tunnel sack that's in that room. Everyone else is stable this morning. it's brutally cold 9 degrees.
I put Jaxxson in the dining room this morning with a dish of soup with some of the food that came in with him. the previous owner sent an email this morning telling me that's how she fed him. He made no move to eat any of it. I got him up at one point set his nose near the dish. He was not interested, I was getting concerned he was shutting down. I made a fresh blender of soup, after I ate I took him into the ferret room sat on the stool holding him to see if he would eat some plain soup. He did, I added soup to the saucer 3 times. I figure he ate about 2/3 of a cup. He was more responsive when I put him into his cage. It looks like I may need to offer him soup several times a day between meds to keep him going for a bit. I left him a saucer of soup for later. He peed a good size puddle on the pee pad for me when I put him back in his cage.
