Birthday-Christmas Surprise from our Shelter Friends

I was in the ferret room moving kids and trying so hard to stay caught up. I was feeling so lousy that it took twice as much time to move kids and clean cages than usual. Vicki and a friend of hers came they were in the play room with Angel and Lucy. I was going from the ferret room to the play room when I heard someone yell HELLO from the store. I said aloud Damn NOW WHAT! I had had one interruption after another from 10 am, it was now noon and I was being interrupted again. I walked out to the kitchen to find Ret and her mom standing in the store from Oswego NY 2 hrs away. I said what the Hell are you doing here? Ret says I told you this morning I had errands to run. at that point I see Stacie , Nichole and Mike standing behind them. Ret says get your coat on you need to come see something. I said wait I do not know if I have everyone put away and taken care of.. I was a blank at that point. I finally made sure kids were in place and secure, got my coat on and out the door I go. I get out to the driveway there has got to be an assortment of 8 to 10 cars out there. Ret stands me next to the side of this white van and says open the sliding door.. as soon as the door opens out pops Roderick my son and Lisa his SO. I screamed Oh My God. What are you doing here. He says here open this I wanted to hand deliver it. so I open this manila envelop to find a wonderful black and white picture of Roderick and his coworkers in full uniform standing in front of a patrol car. Then someone says (I think Ret) what do you think of the van? I said it is cool it looks just like the one Lisa and I rented when we went to Ga. for the symposium. I am going on and on about this that and the other thing when Rod finally holds the van keys out to me, says well good here this is your van put the keys on your key ring. At that point I look around at all the people standing around me and see people I have not seen is months.. then out of the back ground my baby brother walks up to me. I was blown away by the entire thing. Then after the most of everyone left Ret hands me a list of the people that donated to get me the van I now have a van back under my butt. They were even able to get my insurance co to transfer the insurance onto this van from my old tired one.

Hi everyone, this is a secret mission being carried out by all the cousins of the ferret farm that we can round up. Please, we beg of you from the tips of our furry little tails and toes, please don't tell Auntie Brenda what we are up to!!! What we would like to do is this; We all know Brenda is without a vehicle, and we are hoping that working together and pooling all our resources that we can come up with enough money to get Brenda into a van for Christmas. I know she has her Mechanic looking for one for her, and we thought it would be great if we could surprise her with the money to buy one. The more we can raise the better the van she will be able to get. She has no idea that is in the works, and the Idea comes from Shelter friend Deena. Please, if you are able, help us get Brenda a van.

The plan is to do Pay pal or send Checks or money orders to me paypal at ( Currently that account is at 0.00 so it will be very easy to keep track of) I will also keep a record of everyone and your donation to give Brenda , because I know she would kill me if she did not know who to Thank. ret@twcny.rr.com
